Eventhough the 29th edition of Roparun had to be cancelled, the organisaiton proudly presents the final proceeds for 2020. €2.031.058,77! A great ammount raised by the 340 teams that were signed up and ready to start their event from Paris, Bremen or Almelo. Even after cancelling the event the teams didn’t stop their fundraising efforts to try and raise as much as possible for the patients in need of palliative care.

The ammount was a surprise to the organisation, seeing as the actual event was cancelled. Last year we had a recordbreaking 5.6 million euros raised. Since the first edition of Roparun, over 90 million euros has been raised.

Team effort
Managing director Wiljan Vloet:  “Our participants have showed that the actual event isn’t what’s most important to them. They care about all the charities and the people we get to help. Roparunners want to help their fellow men. It’s amazing to see how much effort they put into raising this ammount.”

Team Stichting Hoekse Waard Runners was the team that raised the most this year, a wopping €77.580. Team Almeloopers also raised an amazing ammount of €40.127, followed by Team AMAZING who managed to collect €38.345.

Roparun 2021
Roparun 2021 will take place May 22 – 24. Over 300 teams have selected to forward their entry to 2021. New teams can sign up starting august 1st 2020. Vloet: “It’s great to see that the teams want to be there next year. We’re hoping the event can take place as usual, but we’re working on a few different scenario’s to make sure we’re prepared for the possible health implications set at the time.”
